Wambach, Lilly, and Wagner amongst USWNT vets not heading to the 4 Nations Tournament in China
USWNT head coach Greg Ryan will head to the Four Nations Tournament in Guangzhou, China with a young lineup as he has opted to leave 2006 leading scorers Abby Wambach and Kristine Lilly off the roster, along with midfield playmaking Aly Wagner.
Eleven players that have been invited to the pre-tournament camp have yet to earn a cap with the USWNT.
Also of note is that fact that Shannon Boxx is re-joining the USWNT camp as a non-roster player as she works her way back from torn ACL she suffered in July of 2006. For now, Boxx will only take part in light conditioning and non-contract drills, but it is an important step in her push to be back to full fitness by the time the World Cup rolls around later this year.
