It was a slow news day, but here is the best of the newsie items for today:
- USL Soccer.com, the D&C.com Sports Section, and Devo's Blog all have pieces on yesterday's announcement by the Rhinos that they have signed Chris Sanders and Ze Roberto for the 2009 season.
- Could Montreal be back in the mix for an MLS expansion team? I guess it depends on how many of the reportedly 43,000 tickets sold for their CCL match are "real".
- US Soccer.com has the Pro Zone stat analysis for the US-Mexico game up.
I wish MLS and the USL 1st Division had this for all the matches!
- Chelsea will travel to Seattle to play the Sounders on July 18th.
- With Minnesota announcing that they have signed Quavas Kirk to a 2 year deal with an option, I am wondering if the Rhinos were in the mix for a guy that could play in a variety of spots?
- Joey Worthen will be teaming up with Matthew Delicate in Richmond this season. I wonder if he'll be a USL 1st Division roster freeze deadline addition for a club?
- Carolina RailHawks head coach Martin Rennie did a little Q&A over at the team's website.
- DC United president Kevin Payne "answered" some fan questions about the stadium plan over at the team's official blog.
- In stunning news, AC Milan wants Beckham through 2010........
