FIFA unveiled the three finalists for their men's and women's World Player of the Year awards and Rochester native Abby Wambach did not make the list.
US captain Kristine Lilly, Brazil's Marta, and Germany's Renate Lingor were named as the three finalists for the women's award.
On the men's side, European player of the year and Italian captain Fabio Cannavaro was joined by the reigning World Player of the Year in Brazil's Ronaldinho as well as three-time winner in French captain Zinedine Zidane.
