Yesterday, the USL released their Teams of the Week for Week 3 and the Rhinos were one of two teams to place three players on the USL 1st Division Team of the Week.
Midfielder John Ball was named the player of the week for his two goal performance in Miami on Friday evening. Joining John on the Team of the Week was fellow midfielder T-Bone Bonseu and Goalkeeper Scott Vallow. Bonseu made the team based on his work shutting down Miami FC midfielder Zinho. And Vallow made the team of the week for his dual clean sheets on the road in Miami and Puerto Rico.
Also of note, Vancouver Whitecaps midfielder Tony Donatelli, who was in Rhinos training camp in Cary, NC, was also named to the USL 1st Division Team of the Week. And ex-Rhino Chris Carrieri was named to the USL 2nd Division Team of the Week after scoring a goal in the Richmond Kickers' 5-0 win over the Long Island Rough Riders.

The Rhinos announced the signing of Rochester native Rachel Kruze as the first member of the Rhinos women's team. Rachel has played the last two years in Iceland after having played for the Philadelphia Charge of the WUSA in 2003.
Kristina Cristofori is also in the fold for the W-League team.
It will be interesting to see how head coach Rene Rivas pulls a team together with their opening match coming up on Saturday in Toronto versus the Lady Lynx. Add in all the talk about players like Kasey Zimny and Abby Wambach perhaps playing in a few matches here and there, and Rene has his work cut out for himself in is first go round as a head coach.

Abby got the hat trick as the US Women's National Team gave back after giving up a goal in the 3rd minute to defeat Japan 3-1.
Abby evened the match on a penalty kick in the 40th minute and then put things away in the 2nd half with goals in the 72nd and 89th minutes.
The hat trick was Abby's fourth with the national team and gives her 54 career goals in just 71 games.
